In a sandbox-style server, most plot points you pursue will be cemented in personal character arcs instead of those exclusively set up by Storytellers. Players are always welcome to pursue their arcs and assist in resolving others’ problems, with Storytellers offer guidance as needed or desired. Should you need Storyteller attention, please put in a and one will assist you as soon as they are free.

You have complete control over your character's connections (via Advantages, Flaws, and Touchstones) unless your character would stand to gain some benefit from the interaction, such as a Contact granting you an item or information. At that point, you would ask for help in your ticket or your coordination thread with your Storyteller. You may be asked to make a scene request, should your ask need more than guidance.

Staff are always happy to answer questions—in fact, we welcome them! However, you must be the driving force behind your character’s arcs and decisions. Staff and Storytellers will always strive to give everyone personal attention, but we must keep it fair for everyone and that may mean that you have to wait while we tend to others. If you are stuck on what things you can pursue, you may consult the chart on p.138 of the Core book to give you some ideas.

Please bear in mind that the player is expected to have a general idea of what they want to do and how they’d like to do it when making a request, though it's fine if you need some help solidifying things! It is best to state both of these things in as much detail as possible at the same time to minimize any unnecessary back and forth. Also worth noting is that plots will not always resolve in a way that benefits your character. Sometimes, they will stumble to a conclusion or the thread may end before they can get a meaningful foothold and contribute. Communication is key, however, and a Storyteller will never intentionally bait you into failure or wasted time. If this is a worry, just ask! Surprise and suspense is never worth discomfort and we value being open and honest above all else.
