How do I spend Experience?
There is a detailed experience spending guide here.
I got a messy critical/bestial failure on my roll. What do I do?
Ping the @Storyteller role in the channel with your result and give context for what is happening in the scene. We'll tailor the results to the situation on a case-by-case scenario. Remember to try to reroll with Willpower using the "Avoid Messy" or "Reroll Failures" buttons before pinging, should you wish to do that. Remember that there is a ten-minute time limit before the re-roll buttons get greyed out. We will not allow you to reroll if this time has passed.
How do I fix a roll that I didn't do correctly?
Ping @Staff and explain what is missing from your roll. Generally, you will have your roll negated and be asked to re-roll correctly. We suggest that players use the /roll
command for ease of access.
How much can a Kindred feed from a mortal? What happens if they take more?
A kindred can slake a maximum of 2 Hunger from a single mortal (and far, far less from animals) before endangering them. Each slake requires 2 stories to recover for a regular mortal and a single story per slake for a ghoul. A mortal who has been fed on for 3 or more Hunger in a single feeding must make a Strength + Stamina roll (DC equals the amount of Hunger slaked) to stay alive. If they fail this roll, they die. If they succeed, they will survive the blood loss but will need to seek medical treatment.
How do mortals heal from feedings?
Kindred inflict harmful drinks on mortals when they either slake more than 3 hunger in a single feeding or feed while in frenzy. This inflicts a number of Aggravated damage equal to Hunger slaked. The mortal must then make a Strength + Stamina test at a Difficulty equal to the number of slakes taken. If they fail this roll, the mortal dies. If they pass, they can be safely transported to a medical facility where they can heal properly. Their wounds can be healed if they survive, per p.127 in the core book.
Mortals heal back slaked blood at a rate of 1 slake every 2 stories (8 in-character nights total). Ghouls, in line with their rapid recovery rates, heal back 1 slake every story (4 in-character nights). Should they be fed from and be missing at least 3 slakes at any time, they must make a Strength + Stamina roll equal to the number of slakes currently being taken. If they fail, they die. If they live, they take the number of slakes worth of Aggravated damage.
How do I form a coterie?
Gather the intended coterie members together, between 3-5 kindred. You may create a group ticket in #ticket-creation and add the other members for coordination. From there, use the coterie creation rules (Core p. 195).
All coterie members must have met and done a few scenes together before the coterie is allowed to form on a mechanical level. No coterie sheets will be approved otherwise.
How do I find drugs?
You must make a successful Charisma + Streetwise roll to find various drugs. The DC depends on the type of drug desired:
Cocaine/Meth/Speed: DC 5
Hallucinogens: DC 4
Heroin/Morphine/Oxy/Opiates: DC 5
Marijuana: DC 2
On a total failure, your character is poisoned.
Can my Herd foster a drug type?
No.
Thin-Blood Alchemy and Resonance
In the core book, p.283 dictates: "The specific amount [of resonant blood] needed [for Thin-Blood Alchemy] depends on the degree of the donor’s Resonance and the Storyteller’s whim."
We use the following guidelines: Negligible: No Resonance possible Fleeting: 2 Hunger's worth required Intense: 1 Hunger's worth required Acute: 1 Hunger's worth required
Supplemental Material
For each supplemental book, we have a page that lists which additions are allowed and banned. You will find all you need to know there.
