The Story So Far

Decimated by the Beckoning, Second Inquisition, and the iron fists of resentful young Kindred, the Camarilla could not suppress the Anarch revolt that began in the late ‘90s. A brutal, violent revolution commenced, but Kindred will be Kindred and familiar problems arose.

Retreating to key holdings the Camarilla survived, if only barely. In early 2024, Seneschal Bandile “Benjamin” Khumalo, a Lasombra who only ascended to the position a few years prior, launched a bloody coup to proclaim himself the new Prince. Prince Khumalo promised to restore the Camarilla to its past glory, but the Court remains insecure in his hands and the Primogen Council even smaller than before his ascent.

Once victorious, the devoted Anarch cells which led the successful revolt were overwhelmed by newly Embraced Anarchs more concerned with feeding than with glorious revolution. Rival gangs coalesced around charismatic and brutal leaders alike, each willing to strike at the other as much as the remnant of the Camarilla. Of the prominent speakers at secret Rants before the revolt only the Brujah Junior Mokoena is known to have survived the dreamed-of victor, and now holds rich hunting grounds alongside his comrades.

A young population in a city still suffering the effects of Apartheid, with no one to guide them or restrain their baser instincts. The blood grows weaker with each extraneous Embrace, Sects snap at one another like snarling dogs, and the status quo is untenable. Will they remain in the trappings of their mortal lives, affected by segregation and violence, or will a new night rise over Cape Town?
